To be fair, Harry Maguire is a center back, not tasked with scoring goals.

To be unfair, let's clown the all-time howler he just unleashed on the world.

The Manchester United defender had the mother of all tap-in opportunities in the Europa League against AC Milan on Thursday, and, well, this happened:

The still images do him even less favors:

Maguire was right near the post, which made the finish a bit trickier than it seems. Nevertheless, that should be converted 100 times out of 100. Or maybe 99 out of 100, and this was the one error.

Now the good news. United still hasn't conceded a goal since Feb. 21, and still hasn't lost in any competition since Jan. 27. They've moved up to second in the Premier League table, and just beat league leaders and bitter rivals Manchester City on Sunday to snap City's 21-game win streak.

Amad Diallo scored in the 50th minute to give United a 1-0 lead against Milan, too. So there's plenty going for Maguire. Just not one particular golden opportunity to score.
