April 23 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks declined on Wednesday after a six-session winning streak as gains in Boeing (NYSE: BA - news) and Gilead were offset by slides in AT&T (NYSE: T - news) and the wider biotech sector. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 25.43 points, or 0.15 percent, to 16,488.94. The S&P 500 slipped 4.66 points, or 0.25 percent, to 1,874.89. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 35.044 points, or 0.84 percent, to 4,126.414.

** HUGOTON ROYALTY TRUST, $9.38, +16.52 pct

Hugoton, which has an 80 percent interest in some natural gas producing properties of XTO Energy - a wholly owned subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corp - received a favorable ruling in an arbitration proceeding against XTO.

The arbitration involved Hugoton's disagreement with XTO that all or a part of a $37 million settlement XTO reached in a separate litigation should be deducted from Hugoton's revenues.

The ruling said the settlement amount was not a production cost concerning Hugoton, providing the company permanent injunctive relief and $6.1 million from XTO Energy.

** ZHONE TECHNOLOGIES INC (NasdaqCM: ZHNE - news) , $3.23, -22.36 pct

The fiber-based network equipment maker reported first-quarter revenue that missed analysts' estimates.

** MERITAGE HOMES CORP, $39.04, -9.12 pct

The server maker on Tuesday reported better-than-expected third-quarter results, helped by strong growth in North America and from internet data centers. The company also forecast current-quarter revenue well above analysts' estimates.

** UNISYS CORP, $25.58, -11.58 pct

The IT services provider on Tuesday posted a surprise first-quarter loss, hurt by lower sales of its technology and IT services projects. The company also reported quarterly revenue below analysts' average estimates.

** LINCOLN ELECTRIC HOLDINGS INC, $65.97, -4.27 pct

The welding products maker reported first-quarter revenue below analysts' average estimates due to lower volumes.

** HAWAIIAN HOLDINGS INC (NasdaqGS: HA - news) , $14.72, +7.52 pct

The parent of Hawaiian Airlines Inc reported better-than-expected first-quarter results as passenger revenue per available seat miles rose 4.4 percent.

** COGNEX CORP, $35.37, +3.88 pct

The company, which makes barcode readers and machine vision sensors, said it had received two purchase orders that have a combined value of more than $40 million from a single customer. The company did not name the customer.

** AVERY DENNISON CORP, $49.63, -4.12 pct

The company reported first-quarter results below analysts' estimates.

** VALMONT INDUSTRIES INC (NYSE: VMI - news) , $144.41, -6.84 pct

The maker of irrigation equipment reported lower-than-expected revenue for the first quarter, hurt by a 13 percent fall in revenue from its larger irrigation equipment business.

The company said North American farmers reduced purchases of mechanized irrigation equipment due to a decline in the net farm income.

** NATIONAL BANK OF GREECE (Other OTC: NBGIF - news) , $4.33, -2.48 pct

The bank is preparing to price a senior unsecured bond at a lower yield than its sovereign, in a sign that the "doom-loop" between sovereigns and their banks might finally be broken.

** GOODRICH PETROLEUM CORP (NYSE: GDP - news) , $26.64, +6.73 pct

Analysts at two brokerage firms raised their price target on the oil and gas producer's stock.

Raymond James raised its target to $33 from $29, while Global Hunter Securities raised it to $35 from $28, as analysts expect the company to benefit from its assets in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale in Louisiana.

** SODASTREAM INTERNATIONAL LTD (NasdaqGS: SODA - news) , $46.45, +14.89 pct

Starbucks Corp was in advanced talks to buy 10 percent of the home soft drink maker, Israeli business newspaper Globes reported citing sources. Representatives for both SodaStream and Starbucks (Berlin: SRB.BE - news) declined to comment.

** CR BARD INC (NYSE: BCR - news) , $136.69, -3.13 pct

The company reported better-than-expected first-quarter earnings and sales on Tuesday, helped by stronger sales in the United States. Jefferies & Co analysts raised their price target on the stock to $139 from $134.

** UNILIFE CORP, $3.55, +11.29 pct

The injectable drug delivery systems maker urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate certain short-sellers for "stock manipulation and illicit gains."

Unilife (Frankfurt: 4UL.F - news) alleged that these short-sellers had published "malicious blogs containing false and misleading information" over recent months on an investment website. Unilife refuted allegations of any wrong-doing by the company.

** HERCULES OFFSHORE INC (NasdaqGS: HERO - news) , $4.3, -3.37 pct

The offshore drilling company reported first-quarter revenue that missed analyst estimates, due to greater downtime in the international liftboats segment. Liftboat utilization fell to 57.9 percent for the quarter ended March 31, from 72.1 percent a year earlier.

** ZOGENIX INC (NasdaqGM: ZGNX - news) , $2.815, -6.48 pct

The drugmaker said the Governor of Massachusetts imposed another restriction on the company's abuse-resistant painkiller Zohydro.

Zogenix said it remained ready to work with the State of Massachusetts to help address the problem of opioid abuse. The company has been facing immense criticism regarding Zohydro as the United States grappled with rising cases of drug abuse.

** SANMINA CORP, $21, +15.01 pct

The electronic components manufacturer reported a better-than-expected second-quarter results helped by higher demand for its products. The company also forecast current-quarter adjusted profit above analysts' average estimate, as it expects new programs ramp ups and demand improvement across a broad set of customers. At least two brokerages raised their price target on the company's stock.

** AK STEEL HOLDING CORP, $7.075, +7.36 pct

Analysts at Macquarie Capital upgraded the U.S. steelmaker's stock to "outperform" from "neutral," citing improved pricing and tighter supply in the steel market. The brokerage also raised its target price on the stock to $11 from $6.

** NABORS INDUSTRIES LTD (NYSE: NBR - news) , $25.46, +0.91 pct

The U.S. oilfield services and drilling company posted a better-than-expected profit in the quarter ended March 31, helped by higher demand in Canada and Alaska.

The company earned 16 cents per share from continuing operations in the first quarter, higher than analysts' expectations of 14 cents per share, according to Thomson Reuters (Frankfurt: TOC.F - news) I/B/E/S.

** AETRIUM INC (NasdaqCM: ATRM - news) , $5.7388, +14.09 pct

The company, which makes electromechanical and electrothermal equipment used in testing of integrated circuits, said it entered into an agreement with Boston Semi Automation LLC - a subsidiary of semiconductor equipment maker Boston Semi Equipment LLC (BSE) - to transfer its Test Handler business in exchange for a future revenue royalty stream.

Aetrium said BSE has a "strong presence" in Asia and is well-positioned to generate more revenue and cash flow from the Test Handler business than Aetrium could on its own.

** PLUG POWER INC (NasdaqCM: PLUG - news) , $6.4601, -3.58 pct

The fuel cell systems maker on Wednesday said it expected to lose $5 million-$6 million before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization and stock-based compensations in the first quarter ended March, wider than a loss of $4.8 million a year earlier.

The company on Tuesday raised the number of shares issuable in a public offering to 17 million shares from 6.5 million.

** BOEING CO, $130, +1.92 pct

Rising jet production helped the company post a 14 percent rise in adjusted net profit in the first quarter, beating estimates. The company also notched up its full-year forecast.

** DOW CHEMICAL CO, $49.44, +1.02 pct

The No. 1 U.S. chemical maker by sales reported a better-than-expected rise in quarterly profit as cost controls helped to boost margins in businesses that make coatings, plastics and crop-protection products.

** DELTA AIR LINES (NYSE: DAL - news) , $36.56, +4.61 pct

The aviation company on Wednesday reported a higher first quarter profit as revenue rose and it benefited from lower fuel and maintenance costs. Net (Dusseldorf: NETK.DU - news) income was $213 million, or 25 cents a share, up from $7 million, or one cent a share, for the year-earlier first quarter.

** MANPOWERGROUP INC (NYSE: MAN - news) , $83.45, +7.15 pct

The world's third-largest staffing company's quarterly profit almost tripled, helped by a recovery in hiring in Europe and lower costs, and it forecast accelerating growth in the current quarter.

** VMWARE INC (NYSE: VMW - news) , $95.56, -9.12 pct

The virtualization software maker reported better-than-expected first-quarter revenue and forecast current-quarter revenue largely above analysts' average estimate as more customers opt for its cloud infrastructure services. However, the company on Tuesday acknowledged a delay in closing some of its enterprise license agreements in the first quarter as customers looked to sign expanded deals.

** EMC CORP, $25.805, -3.57 pct

The world's largest maker of data storage equipment cut its full-year earnings forecast, citing acquisition-related costs in its VMware unit.

** ARM HOLDINGS (LSE: ARM.L - news) , $47.18, -5.85 pct

The British company, whose chip technology powers Apple Inc (NasdaqGS: AAPL - news) 's iPhone, posted a 9 percent rise in pretax profit to 97.1 million pounds ($163.36 million). In comparison, a year ago adjusted pretax profit jumped 44 percent.

** YINGLI GREEN ENERGY HOLDING CO, $4.33, -3.99 pct

The mortgage lender reported a loss of $1.51 per share for the quarter ended March 31, compared with a profit of 33 cents per share a year earlier, on reduced volume of loans as mortgage production dropped. Analysts on average were expecting the company to earn 19 cents per share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

** NETFLIX INC (NasdaqGS: NFLX - news) , $356.093, -4.51 pct

Some HBO shows and the Internet streaming service HBO Go will be available next month to Amazon Prime customers, the companies said on Wednesday in a move that could lure customers away from Netflix.

** SUPER MICRO COMPUTER INC, $19.48, +2.80 pct

The server components maker reported better-than-expected results on Tuesday helped by strong demand in North America and from internet data centers, prompting at least two brokerages to raise their price targets on the stock.

Needham raised its price target on the stock to $26 from $23 and said demand appeared "solid".

** INTERNATIONAL GAME TECHNOLOGY (NYSE: IGT - news) , $12.71, -9.67 pct

Janney Capital Markets cut its target price on the casino games maker's stock to $12 from $13 as it expects the company to lose share as it struggles with content and faces increasing competition from smaller manufacturers. "We remain concerned with the outlook for the company going forward for a number of reasons," the brokerage said in a note.

The company on Tuesday reported a 15 percent fall in second-quarter revenue due to declines in machine sales and gaming operations.

** DR PEPPER SNAPPLE GROUP INC, $54.92, +4.83 pct

Shares of the third-largest U.S. beverage maker touched an all-time high after it reported a better-than-expected 46 percent rise in quarterly profit, helped by cutting operating expenses and lower commodity prices.

The company reported adjusted earnings of 74 cents per share, topping the average analysts' estimate of 59 cents per share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

** BRINKER INTERNATIONAL INC (NYSE: EAT - news) , $49.68, -3.85 pct

The parent of the Chili's and Maggiano's restaurant chains reported third-quarter revenue that fell short of the average analyst estimate, hurt by weak traffic.

** B/E AEROSPACE INC, $87.05, +3.14 pct

The aircraft parts supplier reported better-than-expected first-quarter results, helped by a 24.6 percent rise in revenue from it larger commercial aircraft segment business.

** UNISYS CORP, $25.6, $25.58, -11.58 pct

The IT services provider reported a surprise first-quarter loss on Tuesday and said results were hurt by lower sales of technology and IT services projects.

Susquehanna Financial Group cut its price target on the stock to $32 from $35.

** COVANTA HOLDING CORPORATION (NYSE: CVA - news) , $18.25, +1.45 pct

The operator of energy-from-waste (EfW) projects reported better-than-expected first-quarter results, helped by higher waste tons processed and higher energy pricing due to the cold weather at its EfW and biomass facilities.

** SGOCO GROUP LTD, $2.42, +5.68 pct

The Chinese flat-panel display maker said on Tuesday it will launch an e-commerce business, for which it would soon announce a strategic partnership with a "leading e-commerce player" in China.

** NAVIGATOR HOLDINGS LTD (NYSE: NVGS - news) , $26.29, +9.00 pct

The owner and operator of handysize liquefied gas carriers exercised its option to build an additional three semi-refrigerated liquefied gas carriers. The three additional vessels will be built at the Jiangnan shipyard in China for $78.4 million each.

** SUPERVALU INC (NYSE: SVU - news) , $7.25, +7.25 pct

The U.S. grocery retailer posted a profit compared with a year-ago loss and reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter sales, helped by cost cuts and positive identical-store sales at its Save (Milan: SAVE.MI - news) -A-Lot discount stores and retail food formats.

The company's adjusted earnings from continuing operations of 18 cents per share beat the average analyst estimate of 15 cents per share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

The solar panels maker and Google Inc (NasdaqGS: GOOG - news) said they will provide financing to support about $250 million of residential solar lease projects. Some analysts were disappointed with the No. 2 wireless service provider though it raised its 2014 revenue growth forecast.

AT&T raised its full-year revenue growth forecast to at least 4 percent from 3 percent on Tuesday and said it expects adjusted earnings per share to grow at a mid-single digit rate.

The "disappointing" increase in revenue and EPS were mostly because of the larger number of customers shifting to the cheaper Mobile Share Value plan, which will eat into service revenue going forward, JP Morgan (Other OTC: JPYYL - news) analysts wrote in a note and cut their price target on the stock to $34 from $35.

** INTUITIVE SURGICAL INC, $377.76, -10.55 pct

Several analysts cut their price targets on the medical device maker's stock after it lowered its forecast on Tuesday for procedure growth for its da Vinci surgical robots, citing a slowdown in U.S. gynecology procedures.
