Morocco inflation rises to 1.9 pct in August
Rabat (Reuters) - Morocco's annual consumer price inflation rose to 1.9 percent in August from 1.6 percent in July, pushed up by climbing food prices, the high planning authority said on Friday. Food prices rose 2.8 percent from a year earlier last month, non-food costs increased 1.2 percent while education jumped 6.2 percent. On a monthly basis, consumer price inflation rose 1 pct as fruit prices jumped 9.2 percent, vegetable prices increased 2.9 pct, while non-food inflation was 0.3 pct.
