Moussa Dembele Joins Celtic From Fulham

Celtic have signed Moussa Dembele on a four-year deal after the striker completed a medical in Glasgow.

The 19-year-old Frenchman has spent three seasons at Fulham but became a free agent after his contract at Craven Cottage came to an end.

Dembele scored 17 times in 46 appearances for the Cottagers in all competitions last season.

Dembele joins on a four-year deal and becomes Brendan Rodgers's first signing of the summer since he replaced Ronny Deila as manager. Celtic's official website confirmed he will meet his new team-mates for pre-season training in Slovenia.

Dembele was a reported target for Tottenham and came close to signing for the White Hart Lane club during the January transfer deadline last season.

In an interview with the Hoops' official website, the player said: "I was told Celtic is a good club for me and I should get some game time."

Due to his age, Celtic have already agreed a fee with Fulham as a compensation package for developing the youngster in west London.

Celtic's first competitive match of the season will be in mid-July against the winners of the Champions League qualifier between Flora Tallinn of Estonia and Gibraltar side Lincoln Red Imps.

Flora won Tuesday's home leg 2-1.
