A number of insiders bought Capitol Federal Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ:CFFN) stock last year, which is great news for shareholders

Generally, when a single insider buys stock, it is usually not a big deal. However, when several insiders are buying, like in the case of Capitol Federal Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ:CFFN), it sends a favourable message to the company's shareholders.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Capitol Federal Financial Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent purchase by Rick Jackson is the biggest insider purchase of Capitol Federal Financial shares that we've seen in the last year. That implies that an insider found the current price of US$9.20 per share to be enticing. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. We do always like to see insider buying, but it is worth noting if those purchases were made at well below today's share price, as the discount to value may have narrowed with the rising price. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider purchases were made at close to current prices.
