Olaplex’s New CEO Makes Changes to Her C-suite

Most recently, Dunleavy was president, and prior to that, CFO at Away, following tenures at Nike, Comcast, NBCUniversal and GE.

Eric Tiziani stepped down as CFO to pursue another opportunity in May. In the interim, Paul Kosturos, a seasoned financial executive, served as interim CFO.

Gohman began her career at L’Oréal and went on to hold marketing leadership positions at L’Oréal, Ralph Lauren, Coach, and most recently served as chief marketing officer at Marc Jacobs.

“I am thrilled to welcome these two talented executives to Olaplex as we continue developing a strategy that is designed to harness Olaplex’s many strengths and enables our company to achieve its true potential,” said Baldwin.

“Catherine is a proven leader with a strong track record of executing high-impact strategic, operational, and financial initiatives at scale at some of the world’s most recognizable brands,” she continued. “Katie’s marketing and creative acumen will be instrumental in our efforts to maximize the power of the Olaplex brand and empower and enable the success of our stylist community.”

Baldwin, a seasoned beauty executive, took the reins of the hair company in January and has been implementing her new strategy to turn around its fortunes.

After building a cult following for its bond-building products, Olaplex hit a rough patch amid increased competition and a lawsuit in which several plaintiffs claimed they have sustained personal injuries to their hair and scalp, including hair loss and damaged hair. The lawsuit was subsequently dismissed.

Net sales at the beleaguered hair care company fell 13.1 percent to $98.9 million in the quarter ending March 31.
