The one with the ribbon cutting: Pivot Group opens new counseling location
Feb. 25—Shawn Roberts offered assurances to the crowd as he cut the ribbon alongside his wife, Becky, during the grand opening of The Pivot Group Feb. 20.
"We'll be there for you," he said.
The Pivot Group partnered with the Duncan Chamber of Commerce to tour the facility Tuesday afternoon. The Chamber presented a plaque and celebratory ribbon to the Robertses for their new facility.
The agency will offer mental health counseling services from anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic fatigue, postpartum and trauma, as well as other desired areas.
Shawn Roberts, a licensed professional counselor and proprietor, said the Pivot Group will be a full-service counseling location for anyone of any age or background.
He said he's been in the field since 2019, and he's worked with clients from 5 years old to Vietnam veterans.
With a military background, Roberts said, he's able to relate to a lot of what veterans experience.
"I'm very versatile in everything we talk about in counseling," he said. "There's really no area of expertise I'm focused on; I like to keep in wide open."
Roberts plans to eventually add a sensory room for clients. He said he's hoping the room turns about to be vibrant, with lots of colors, lights and sensory items.
The Pivot Group offers plenty of seating in the waiting room, along with snacks and water, as well as a spacious counseling office and a sensory room.
