Yahoo Finance Parasite star joins Apple TV+'s sci-fi series
Parasite star Lee Sun-kyun has joined Apple TV+'s latest science fiction series.
The Wrap reports the actor will lead the cast of the streaming service's first full Korean-language project Dr. Brain, which is expected to premiere later this year.
Based on the popular web series of the same name, Dr. Brain follows a neuroscientist who is obsessed with developing technologies to access the consciousness and memories in the brain.
When his life is suddenly upended by a tragic family accident, the titular doctor must use the same technologies to access his wife's memories and solve the ongoing mystery surrounding the life-altering event.

Dr. Brain is currently in production in South Korea and is written and directed by Kim Jee-woon (The Last Stand).
News of the series follows Parasite being made into its own TV series.
The Oscar-winning movie will be developed by the film's director Bong Joon-ho in conjunction with HBO.
Previously, Marvel star Mark Ruffalo was attached to the project.

On the reasoning behind developing a series, Bong Joon-ho told The Hollywood Reporter: "With cinema, you're limited to a two-hour running time.
"But there were so many stories that I thought of that could happen in between the sequences you see in the film, and some background stories for each character."
Dr Brain will debut on Apple TV+ later this year.
