Yahoo Finance Patrick Mahomes limping after apparent foot injury in otherwise sterling first half vs. Browns
Patrick Mahomes had an excellent first half for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Cleveland Browns. He was, as usual, accurate and efficient, completing 19 of 25 passes for 233 yards and one touchdown while rushing for another.
But the first half did have a scary moment. Mahomes took a trip into the blue medical tent to have his left big toe looked at.

Everyone held their breath, waiting to see how long it would take him to come out and which direction he’d walk when he did. Would he walk toward the locker room, or back to the bench?
We didn’t have to wait long to find out. Mahomes exited the tent pretty quickly, walked toward the bench, and got right down to business.
For the curious, Patrick Mahomes was sitting on the bench looking a tablet with Andy Reid after last possession. He then walked over to OL group with tablet and chatted with them before returning to his usual spot. At not time, did a member of athletic staff spend time with him.

It definitely didn’t look like Mahomes was coming out of the game, and no one seemed concerned about his toe, but he was walking with a definite limp on the sideline and the field. He had a few uncharacteristically inaccurate throws once he was back on the field, but those barely affected the team. And his toe issue certainly didn’t appear to hurt his run game.

The Chiefs had no trouble holding off the Browns, at least in the first half. But the bigger question is what happens to Mahomes’ toe after the game and throughout next week if the Chiefs win. It doesn’t seem like a major problem now, but only time will tell if this becomes an issue in the near future, AKA the worst time possible for the Chiefs.
