Photos Leaked Of Disgraced Sam Bankman-Fried In Prison

A photo of Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) has recently gone viral, showing the former billionaire with five other inmates.

The photo, obtained by crypto reporter Tiffany Fong, shows a noticeably thinner SBF, who is also growing a beard and standing alongside other inmates. The photo was supposedly taken on Dec. 17, according to Fong's interview with a former inmate named G Lock.

SBF resides in the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York. While there have been rumblings regarding his time there, such as participating in the mackerel economy and telling some of the guards about crypto, Fong is the first to obtain a picture of SBF in prison.

Don't Miss:

Most of the inmates at the Metropolitan Detention Center are held there as they await sentencing for cases in New York. Some other famous inmates who have gone through the same prison include R. Kelly, Ghislaine Maxwell and Michael Cohen.

Some former inmates have described MDC in a very negative light, saying that its conditions are akin to those experienced by "prisoners of war" and Hannibal Lecter in the film "The Silence of the Lambs." SBF himself came out a few months ago and voiced his opinion, saying that he was concerned about his ability to keep his vegan diet and access his medications.

According to Fong's unreleased interview with G Lock, SBF has not had too bad of a time in prison. He has not received any serious violent threats or intimidation. G Lock said that SBF is "more gangster" than famous rapper 6ix9ine (Tekashi69), because SBF never "snitched" on anyone, unlike 6ix9ine famously did.

G Lock also noted that SBF is "strange as sh*t" but most also consider him to be a "good guy."

Another interesting point brought up was that SBF and fellow inmates watched the "60 Minutes" interview with journalist Michael Lewis, accounting for the "rise and fall" of SBF. The interview was released at the same time as Lewis's biography on SBF titled "Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon."

SBF is awaiting sentencing for one of the largest fraud cases in history, causing nearly $9 billion in customer assets to disappear.

The collapse of Bankman-Fried's FTX Trading Ltd. has led to many questions surrounding the safety and integrity of crypto trading platforms. However, Kraken has put these concerns to rest with its heightened security and focus on a strong customer experience. You can start trading any of its 200-plus crypto offerings with as little as $10.
