** The Canadian federal government has proposed a series of amendments to the Competition Act that would give companies more freedom to pursue legal challenges on anti-competitive grounds.

** Ottawa is looking closely at tax reform to encourage businesses to shift advertising from Meta, Google , and other foreign tech platforms, back to Canadian media.

A federal auction for 5G wireless licences has netted $2.16-billion for Ottawa. Telus Corp shelled out the most, spending $619.6 million, while BCE Inc's Bell Mobility spent $518 million and Rogers Communications Inc paid $474.8 million. (Compiled by Bengaluru newsroom)
