Yahoo Finance 'Lovely Photos' Of Charlotte On First Birthday
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released photographs of Princess Charlotte to celebrate her first birthday today.
The four images show the little girl at her home in Norfolk earlier this month, and were taken by her mother Kate.
The tiny royal was introduced to the public on the day of her birth, 2 May 2015, and as with her older brother George the images made headlines around the world.
A statement from Kensington Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess are very happy to be able to share these important family moments and hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as they do."
The pictures show how the young princess - named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana after her grandmother Diana, and great-grandmother the Queen - has grown up during her first 12 months.
Her privacy has been carefully guarded during the past year, and she has only been seen in public on one other occasion, her christening.
On that day George stole the limelight when he stood on tiptoes to peer into her pram.
One photo shows Charlotte in a pink cardigan sitting on the floor at home gazing at the camera.
Another shows her grinning as she pushes a baby walker full of alphabet blocks on the lawn.
In a third photograph, she wears a blue dress with a blue ribbon clip in her hair, and the final one shows her clambering on a wicker chair.
