The 22-year-old was recently acquired by the Raptors, along with Rodney Hood in a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers that saw Norman Powell sent the other way after six years with the franchise.

It was a remarkable game for Trent Jr., who briefly appeared to be injured in the first half. Trent Jr. limped off the court and was assisted by Kyle Lowry. Minutes later, Trent Jr. was seen on the bench holding his shin, but returned to the game shortly thereafter.

Trent Jr. finished with 16 points on 7-of-15 shooting, adding two rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes.

The newest member of the Raptors went semi-viral last week when he explained that he took the time to correctly pronounce Yuta Watanabe's name.

Kind gestures go a long way, and a buzzer-beater in a season largely devoid of warm moments will surely expedite Trent's chances of becoming a fan favourite in Toronto.
