Nude as a descriptor in fashion has oftentimes ignored people of color. Through the years, nude has been associated with light beige shades, but Salone Monet seeks to address this longstanding issue in her shoe line.

Besides the fact that Salone Monet shoes are stylish and everyday wearable, they give a new name to nude. The shoes actually save on waste because each pair is hand-dyed to order. Not only does this practice mean more diverse color options, but it also allows the brand to support artisans across the country.

The Salone Monet brand is unique because it carries six different nude hues in three different styles. In the collection, there’s the 3.3-inch heeled Anita shoe, the four-inch slingback open-toed Sable shoe and finally, the Jojo flats. All of the styles are created with shade names like Landry, Bank, Paul, Kyle, Campbell and McCullough to represent the dark to light nude tones.

The Anita shoe features a cathedral heel with a pointed almond toe. One unique feature of the shoe is the small platform under the sole. Though it’s different, it’s the brand’s signature for their shoes. It’s important to note that this shoe runs small, so consider sizing up half a size.

The Sable shoe is similar to the Anita with its platform in the front. However, this shoe has a stiletto heel and fits true to size. Each pair has a nude silk upper and leather soles. This sleek style is available for pre-order right now, with an expected ship date of Apr. 26.

The JoJo shoe is the only flat pair in the Salone Monet collection. Like the Anita, this style runs slightly small so size up for a better fit. Plus, this pair is 30 percent off right now.

With every pair of shoes, Salone Monet proves that nude is way more fashionable when you include lots of different complexions.
