Sir Billy Connolly gets second COVID vaccine jab and says it was 'nae bother'

Sir Billy Connolly has received his second dose of the coronavirus vaccine, declaring it “nae bother!”

The Scottish comedian, 78, had his first jab in January and his wife Pamela Stephenson revealed in a post on social media that he has now had his second.

Sharing a photograph on Twitter of the star with his sleeve rolled up getting his vaccine, she said she was "relieved" that he'd had both jabs.

“Billy just had his second Covid 19 vaccination!" wrote Pamela. “We waited our turn and received them at our local Publix supermarket. So relieved he has some protection now!”

“He said ‘Wee jab - nae bother!’” she added.

Sir Billy lives in America with Pamela, who he tied the knot with in 1989.

In 2013, the star revealed that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

He has not performed a stand-up gig since 2017 and confirmed in recent years that he will not perform any more shows.

The star opened up about the progress of his illness in ITV documentary Billy Connolly: It’s Been A Pleasure last year.

“It’s got me and it will get me and it will end me but that’s OK with me,” he said.

Sir Billy added: “I started low and I ended high.

"Just staying up there, until it is time to stop, seems a natural and good thing to do.

"It is a good thing to be proud of, I wanted to be a funnyman and I got it.”
