The Hollywood legend is estimated to be worth a staggering $400 million (£315m). Let's find out how he built his incredible fortune...

Stallone's first starring role was in the adult film The Party at Kity and Stud's in 1970, a project the actor claims he undertook out of desperation after being evicted from his apartment. He was paid just $200 for his performance – around $1,600 (£1.3k) in today’s money.

In the early 1970s, he went on to land parts in movies including No Place to Hide, Capone, and Death Race 2000, but his big break was still on the horizon...

Stallone's luck changed when he wrote the screenplay for Rocky. Inspired by a boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner, the struggling actor reportedly refused to sell the script unless he was cast in the lead role.

Rocky became a massive hit upon its release in 1976, catapulting Stallone to stardom. It went on to win three Oscars at the 1977 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, though Stallone missed out on the Best Actor award to Peter Finch.

Stallone's life went from rags to riches thanks to the film, with the actor once remarking on his underdog story: "Rocky isn't based on me, but we both went the distance".

Five Rocky sequels followed over the next three decades, with Stallone confirming his Hollywood icon status in action-packed film franchises including Rambo and The Expendables.

His highest-paid roles include his appearance in the 1995 sci-fi movie Judge Dredd, for which he earned a cool $17.5 million (around $37m/£29m in today's money). He also earned an inflation-adjusted pay cheque of $35 million (£27.5m) for the 2002 crime thriller Eye See You.

In fact, the star reportedly earned a staggering $300 million (£236m) from movie salaries alone between the 1970s and 2012.

In 2018, Stallone co-founded the film studio Balboa Productions with his friend Braden Aftergood, and he continues to write and produce many of the projects he stars in.

The studio has produced movies including 2019’s Rambo: Last Blood and 2023's Rocky spin-off Creed III. While Stallone reprised his most famous role in the earlier instalments alongside Michael B. Jordan, he didn’t return for the most recent Creed film.

In 2022, Stallone made a big splash on the small screen with a starring role as Dwight "The General" Manfredi in the gritty crime series Tulsa King, which was produced via Balboa Productions.

Earning an impressive $1 million (£790k) per episode, he joined an elite club of actors who can command seven-figure salaries for a single TV episode. In total, Stallone banked a cool $9 million (£7m) for the first season, with a second series of the Paramount+ show due to air in the near future.

Outside of his film and TV work, it may not surprise you to learn that Stallone is also a boxing promoter.

His company, Tiger Eye Productions, has signed some top sporting talent over the years, including world-champion boxers Sean O'Grady and Aaron Pryor.

Now, let's move on to the matriarch of the Stallone dynasty...

Jennifer Flavin

Born on 14 August 1968, Jennifer Flavin is the third wife of Sylvester Stallone. The couple started dating in the 1980s, eventually tying the knot in 1997.

Flavin is the mother of Stallone's three daughters and the stepmother of his sons from a previous relationship.

She’s estimated to be worth $50 million (£39m), so how does she make her money?

Now an established entrepreneur, Flavin began her career as a model, signing up with the Elite Modeling Agency at the age of 19.

She went on to grace the covers of magazines such as Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan and featured in campaigns for British fashion brand Bila.

Flavin has also tried her hand at acting, landing minor roles in the 1990 movies Bar Girls and Rocky V.

Flavin is a co-founder of Serious Skincare, a company dedicated to producing science-based skincare solutions for a number of beauty problems. Her relationship with the brand began when she was a young model struggling with acne.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Serious Skincare, which debuted its products on the Home Shopping Network in 1993, has generated more than $2 billion (£1.6bn) in sales.

Flavin has boosted her fortune with appearances in reality TV shows including American Gladiators and The Contender, which also featured her husband Sylvester.

Now the couple have reunited on the small screen for the reality TV series The Family Stallone on Paramount+.

So how do Stallone and Flavin spend their huge fortune?

Oceanfront mansion

The couple owns an oceanfront mansion in the upscale Palm Beach region of Florida (pictured), which they snapped up for $35 million (£28m) in 2020. The stunning property boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that offer breathtaking views of the sea. The grounds are home to two guest houses, an open-air cabana, a swimming pool, and a spa.

Stallone and his family previously lived in a mega-mansion located in the star-studded Beverly Hills region of California. He purchased the property in the 1990s.

Home to his famous memorabilia room that featured a life-size Rocky statue, it also boasted a cinema, a cigar room, and an infinity pool.

The luxe pad was sold to British pop star Adele in 2021 for $58 million (£46m), well under the original $110 million (£87m) asking price.

Swish supercars

Like many of the super-rich, Stallone splashes out on supercars. The most expensive set of wheels in his possession is a 2015 Bugatti Veyron (similar to the model pictured), which reportedly set him back an eye-watering $1.6 million (£1.3m).

Meanwhile, other swish sports cars in his enviable collection include a 2009 Mercedes-AMG SL65 Coupe Black Series valued at $304,000 (£240k) and a 2017 Aston Martin Vanquish S valued at $298,000 (£235k).

It's not just sports cars Stallone collects; he also has a penchant for vintage vehicles such as his 1932 Ford Highboy Hot Rod. Stallone's custom-made model is finished with a glossy black exterior, features a tan and white leather interior, and is reportedly worth around $330,000 (£260k).

Flashy timepieces

Sly Stallone/Instagram

In 2021, Stallone was seen on Instagram sporting a Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch (pictured). Finished in stainless steel with a green dial, it retails for a cool $5,900 (£4.6k). However, this isn’t the only flashy timepiece spotted on Stallone’s wrist...

The actor famously collects pricey watches, with luxe brands such as Panerai and Rolex among his favourites. Earlier this year, Stallone auctioned off 11 watches from his impressive collection, fetching an eye-watering sum of $6.7 million (£5.3m).

The jewel of the auction was a Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime 6300. The watch had never been worn by Stallone and came to auction sealed in its original packaging. A variation of this timepiece previously fetched $31 million (£24m) under the hammer in 2019, setting a record as the most expensive watch ever sold. Stallone's version fetched a hefty $5.4 million (£4.3m) at Sotheby's auction house.

Luxury vacations

Stallone and Flavin appear to live by the "work hard, play hard" rule and they enjoy many lavish vacations together.

Stallone, Flavin, and their daughters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet were seen sunbathing aboard a yacht in Saint Tropez in the summer of 2018. The family are reportedly regular visitors to the French Riviera, with Stallone even celebrating his 70th birthday in the region in 2016.

Later in the summer of 2018, the jet-setting family was spotted soaking up the sunshine at a beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. More recently, Stallone and Flavin were photographed enjoying a vacation with friends in Porto Cervo, Italy last year.

Now let's move on to the Stallone children...

Sage also made a name for himself behind the camera, winning the Best New Filmmaker award at the 2006 Boston Film Festival for the short film Vic, which he also wrote and produced.
