STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps fall but outperform blue-chips
Britain's small cap equity indexes edge lower on Monday yet outperform bigger falls on the blue-chip index.
The FTSE Small Caps Index is down by 0.1 percent while the FTSE AIM (FTSE: ^FTAI - news) All Share Index declines by 0.3 percent, with both outperforming bigger falls of 0.9 percent on the blue-chip FTSE 100 (FTSE: ^FTSE - news) index and 1 percent on the FTSE 250 (FTSE: ^FTMC - news) mid-cap index.
GW Pharmaceuticals (NasdaqGM: GWPH - news) jumps 13.8 percent higher, benefiting from a price target upgrade from Lazard, which raises its price target to $65 from $22 while keeping a "buy" rating on the stock.
Enables IT Group also advances by 4.3 percent after the software consultancy group wins a contract in the United States.
Steel production-focused company Beacon Hill Resources falls 15.9 percent to 1.48 pence after the group says it will issue unsecured convertible loan notes to raise up to $19.2 million. The loan notes will be able to be converted into Beacon Hill shares worth 2.0 pence each.
