Tesco launches 2022 Christmas ad
The Tesco Christmas advert for 2022 acknowledges the cost of living crisis but pledges to help customers celebrate in style, no matter what their budget is.
Opening on the snowy landscapes of Britain, the narrator informs us that Tesco has formed ‘The Christmas Party’, which is standing up for joy.
We catch a glimpse of some of the best festive food moments: mince pies, pigs in blankets, delicious desserts, party food and cheese boards, to name a few.’ The narrator confirms: ‘The only thing we’ll cut are prices and cake.’
Throughout the advert, Tesco demonstrates how it is committed to helping the nation prepare for Christmas, with great offers and good value gifts.
Alessandra Bellini, Chief Customer Officer at Tesco, says: ‘It’s very important that our seasonal campaigns reflect how our customers genuinely feel and what we know they are looking for. We understand that it is a tough time at the moment with everyone’s finances under pressure, but we also know that people are looking forward to Christmas – in fact our research shows that there is even more excitement around it than usual.
‘This is why we decided to officially stand up for joy this Christmas. Through our campaign, we take a look at those moments during the festive period that unite us all – including the delight of eating delicious desserts, sitting around a table together with loved ones, movie nights in our pjs and even the inevitable confusion around bin day - to put a smile on people’s faces as we prepare for a season of meaningful celebrations.’

Tesco Christmas advert 2021 recap
Tesco's 2021 Christmas advert celebrated that Christmas was officially back after the disappointment during the pandemic. Set to Queen’s uplifting anthem 'Don't Stop Me Now', the ad opens outside of a Tesco store with a lady determined not to let anything – including the forgotten Tesco Finest cranberry sauce – stop her from Christmas dinner with her family.
