Dad sandals were having a “moment” back in 2019, but let’s face it, the moments passed and it looks like they’re here to stay.
If we sound dubious about them, we don’t mean to be because actually chunky sandals - once reserved for dads on holiday - are some of the most comfortable, and surprisingly flattering, footwear out there at the moment.
And perhaps the most well-known, most sought-after version of the trend are the Teva Original Universal Sandals.
Designed to give support and comfort on even the most unpredictable terrain (no, we don’t mean Oxford Street on the weekend), the sandals have been seen on everyone who is anyone over the past year or so.
This is likely why high street giant John Lewis just can’t seem to keep the shoes, priced at £40, in stock.
Buy it: Teva Original Universal Sandals | £40 from John Lewis
The retailer launched Teva at the start of the year and it has been a firm favourite with customers.
Although John Lewis stock a range of Teva sandals, its best-sellers are the Universal Sandals in black, which sold out within three days and have almost 2,000 reviews. Currently only a few sizes sporadically remain in stock, but the footwear is being re-stocked soon due to high demand.
The original black versions of these sandals help make a floral day dress more edgy and cool, add a touch of texture to a jeans and tee ensemble and look uber-chic with high-waisted shorts too.
Best of all, because of their stripped back, simple style, they can be paired with anything and everything - which is good news for our soles.
But before you lament the unavailability of the sell-out sandals, there is some good news because we’ve also found the Teva Original Universal Sandals at Office for 25% off.
Yep, not only can you get your hands - and feet on a pair - you can also save money at the same time.
