Puma has teamed up with nonprofit The Black Fives Foundation to present a new capsule collection that celebrates the pre-NBA history of Black Americans in basketball. Commonly referred to as the Black Fives Era, it's a significant period between the early 1900’s to 1950 when the NBA signed its first Black players.

“I'm proud and honored to partner with PUMA toward making a meaningful, long-lasting difference in expanding Black history education to include the pioneering African American teams, players, and contributors who helped pave the way for today's game,” Founder and Executive Director of the Black Fives Foundation Claude Johnson said of the collaboration.

The Black Fives Foundation and Puma will also be launching a digital vault, an online portal where audiences can look through nearly 1,000 artifacts in the organization's historical archive. Momentos include vintage equipment, ticket stubs, game gear, photographs, scorecards and much more.
