UK GAS-Prices edge higher as supply-demand balanced

* UK day-ahead gas up at 34.90 pence/therm

* Humbly Grove gas storage outage expected Wed

Nov 10 (Reuters) - British gas prices rose on Tuesday as imports from the Netherlands ceased and exports to Belgium increased, while overall supply and demand were balanced.

Gas for within day delivery climbed 0.40 pence per therm to 34.90 pence per therm by 0946 GMT, while day-ahead prices were up 0.35 pence to 34.80 pence.

The UK gas market was balanced, with demand estimated at 239.7 million cubic metres/day (mcm) and supply at 239.3 mcm, according to National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) data.

Flows through the BBL (Shenzhen: 002776.SZ - news) pipeline from the Netherlands fell to zero this morning from around 16 mcm on Monday. Exports to Belgium through the UK Interconnector rose to 36 mcm, slightly higher compared with Monday.

SSE (LSE: SSE.L - news) 's Albrough gas storage site reinstated a maintenance period reducing injection rates at the facility from 0800-1600 GMT.

Another storage site at Humbly Grove will experience a full outage between 0800-2000 on Wednesday, the operator said in a market message.

Norwegian gas flows via the Langeled pipeline, Britain's main subsea import route, were expected to be 56 mcm, in line with Monday's level but up on last week.

Weather forecasts continued to predict mild temperatures in the coming days.

Gas prices for December fell 0.05 pence to 38.10 pence/therm.

In the Netherlands the day-ahead gas price at the TTF hub was up 0.10 euros at 16.58 euros per megawatt hour.

In Europe's carbon market the benchmark EU Allowance (EUA) edged down 0.02 euros to 8.30 euros a tonne. (Reporting by Oleg Vukmanovic; Editing by xx)
