US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall Street tumbles on tech sector, trade worries

NEW YORK, April 2 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks plunged on Monday as investors fled technology stocks amid resurging trade worries, sending the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average below their 200-day moving averages for the first time since the Brexit vote in June 2016.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 458.92 points, or 1.9 percent, to 23,644.19, the S&P 500 lost 58.99 points, or 2.23 percent, to 2,581.88 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 193.33 points, or 2.74 percent, to 6,870.12. (Reporting by Stephen Culp Editing by James Dalgleish)
