Washington Reit (ELME) Meets Q3 FFO Estimates

Washington Reit (ELME) came out with quarterly funds from operations (FFO) of $0.23 per share, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. This compares to FFO of $0.20 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

A quarter ago, it was expected that this real estate investment trust would post FFO of $0.22 per share when it actually produced FFO of $0.21, delivering a surprise of -4.55%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus FFO estimates just once.

Washington Reit , which belongs to the Zacks REIT and Equity Trust - Residential industry, posted revenues of $54.6 million for the quarter ended September 2022, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 3.13%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $42.5 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates three times over the last four quarters.

The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future FFO expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.

Washington Reit shares have lost about 28.3% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's decline of -19.6%.
