It's funny how time slips away — and Willie Nelson continues to surprise fans with new music.

On Thursday, the country music star announced the release of his 75th studio album, The Border, on May 31.

In light of the exciting announcement, Nelson, 90, also shared the first single and title track on the album, which is a cover of Rodney Cowell's 2019 song from his album Texas.

The Border will include 10 tracks, four of which were co-written by Nelson and longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon. The album is available for preorder here.

The Border will follow Nelson's recent EP Bluegrass, which dropped in September 2023.

The album announcement arrived the same day that Nelson is set to host his Luck Reunion at his Texas ranch with performances by Tyler Childers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Madi Diaz and John Oates.

This summer, the "Riders in the Sky" singer will be on the road again for his annual Outlaw Music Festival Tour with Family bandBob DylanRobert Plant & Allison Krause and John Mellencamp.

On select shows, country star Brittney Spencer, soul singer Celisse and five-piece Memphis band Southern Avenue, as well as Bluegrass artist Billy Strings will join the festival.

This year’s Outlaw Music Festival kicks off on June 21 in Alpharetta, Georgia, and continues throughout the summer before wrapping up on Sept. 17 in Buffalo, New York.

Last April, Nelson celebrated his milestone 90th birthday, he opened up to PEOPLE about his commitment to staying out on the road.

"I get a lot of fun out of playing for an audience," he said. "There's a great energy exchange there. It's what keeps me going."
