Xiaomi prepares to launch new Redmi 12 and Note 13 series

On Tuesday, Xiaomi (OTC:XIACF) Philippines announced the upcoming unveiling of the Redmi 12, set for Wednesday, September 20, 2023. The latest addition to the Redmi series is expected to feature a 50MP triple rear camera and a premium glass back design. Unlike the Redmi 12C and Redmi Note 12 series, this device will not have a dedicated camera island separating the cameras from the rest of the back.

If the local version aligns with the global variant, consumers can anticipate a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, a 6.79-inch 90Hz FHD+ display, an 8MP front camera, an 8MP ultrawide rear sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. Xiaomi is set to stream the launch event on its Facebook (NASDAQ:META) page at 6 PM on September 20, 2023.

In related news, Xiaomi is also preparing for the launch of the Redmi Note 13 series smartphones in China on September 21, followed by an expected debut in India. The upcoming Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro+ smartphones will be equipped with Qualcomm (NASDAQ:QCOM) Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC and Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC as confirmed by various teasers posted by Xiaomi on Weibo (NASDAQ:WB).

These smartphones will be the first to debut with these chipsets. The GeekBench listing has revealed their capabilities. The devices were previously spotted in China’s 3C and TENAA certifications, revealing various specifications of the unreleased devices. Two new Redmi smartphones have also been spotted in India’s BIS certification ahead of their potential debut in the country.
