I found out how the Ben and Jerry's board members are elected. They are elected by the other board members.

Large supermarket chain has B&J at $5.89 today. A bit steep. Intelligent people must make sound economic choices these days, so good luck sales dept.

The directors of Ben and Jerry's
Are taking their owners to court.
Unilever is absolutely right in stopping it's 100% owned subsidiary from committing corporate suicide.
Let's see the outcome of the court case.

Any spin-offs planned? Looking at the one year chart, this might be a decent level to buy back in…

It seems as if Ben and Jerry's management needs to resign and go 'do good' in the world. Perhaps they could relocate to the 'Palestinian Territories'.

Nice steady climb out from the low set in May. Walmart's quarterly should be of some interest to UL holders. People are holding off on buying clothes but consumer staple like foodstuffs and grooming products have remained strong in sales. This is good news for UL.

I wonder what made UL cave like this. I kept reading here that it has zero effect on the company. Weird

B&J is a liability for UL. As I told you for months, Is-rael always wins against BDS. :)

I bought PG when Nelson Pelz became involved and PG went from $85-$160 in a 18 months
Peltz is now involved with Unilever and if he does just half as good UL will run to $66 a share. present 4.5% dividend is huge for such a widely diversified food/health conglomerate. AR $46 only $3.5 from low., This looks like strong buy

"Under the terms of Unilever’s acquisition agreement of Ben & Jerry’s in 2000, Ben & Jerry’s and its independent Board were granted rights to take decisions about its social mission, but Unilever reserved primary responsibility for financial and operational decisions and therefore has the right to enter this arrangement.

The new business arrangement follows a Unilever review of Ben & Jerry’s in Israel after the brand and its independent Board announced last year its decision to discontinue sales of its ice cream in the West Bank.

Unilever has used the opportunity of the past year to listen to perspectives on this complex and sensitive matter and believes this is the best outcome for Ben & Jerry’s in Israel. The review included extensive consultation over several months, including with the Israeli Government."

Unilever today announced it has reached a new arrangement for Ben & Jerry’s in Israel which will ensure the ice cream stays available to all consumers.

The radical B&J board has filed suit against UL to reinstate the boycott against Israel. The agreement between UL and the local Israeli franchise has been frozen.
