Walmart is bowing out of the healthcare business just five years after entering the market, as it moves to close all 51 of its health centers and telehealth business. The decision comes a little over a year since rival Amazon.com completed the purchase of its own healthcare provider—and is leaning into the industry even as Walmart is cutting back.
Walmart Inc (NYSE:WMT) said on Tuesday that it would close all of its healthcare clinics across the country. Walmart pharmacies and vision centers were unaffected. The big box retailer will close 51 clinic locations and shut down the virtual care offerings.
