'This Ain't No Joke': Streets Turn to Rivers as Flash Flooding Hits Lake Charles

A flash-flood “emergency”:https://twitter.com/NWSLakeCharles/status/1394363170710380546 left Lake Charles, Louisiana, inundated with floodwater after thunderstorms swept the region on Monday, May 17.

Up to nine inches of rain fell in 12 hours in the area during the flash flood emergency, according to the National Weather Service.
