Boeing deliveries fall sharply amid safety turmoil
Boeing (BA) announced it delivered 83 commercial planes in the first quarter. The aerospace company has seen deliveries fall sharply after a door plug blew off on an Alaska Airlines (ALK) flight in January. The subsequent fallout and further incidents have caused Boeing to dramatically reduce its output. In the first quarter of 2023, Boeing said it had delivered 130 planes.

RACHELLE AKUFFO: All right. Watching shares of Boeing ticking slightly lower after the maker of the 737 MAX jet planes saw its airplane deliveries decline in the first quarter. Boeing delivered 83 planes in Q1. That's down from the 157 in the quarter prior. Just in March, the company delivered 29 jets. Now this comes as the company struggles with safety and production issues after a door plug blew out from one of its 737 MAX nine planes mid-air in January.
