Box Office Bombs 'Spider-Man 2', 'Blended' Top DVD Sales Chart
This summer's box office bombs are getting a second life through DVD sales. 'Blended', produced by Time Warner's movie studio Warner Brothers, has narrowly beat Sony's 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' to the top of domestic home video sales charts in its first week of release ended August 31st, according to Nielsen data. Better-than-expected DVD sales are a consolation prize for the Adam Sandler comedy which proved a dud in cinemas. Since its May release, the film generated only $46.7 million in North American ticket sales, little over its production budget of $40 million. Worldwide, the film grossed half Sandler's last film, 'Grown Ups 2'.
