Clashes in Jerusalem as Protests Continue Against New al-Aqsa Mosque Security Measures

Amid heightened security at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, there were clashes between Israeli security forces and Muslim protesters for a third straight night on July 18. Dozens were reported injured as rubber bullets and stun grenades were used.

Similar clashes followed prayers on previous nights, as Muslims protested against the installation of metal detectors at the site, where the al-Aqsa Mosque is located, after two Israeli police officers were shot and killed.
