Delhi Police Escort Oxygen Tanker Amid COVID-19 Surge

Delhi Police escorted a 2,300 kilogram oxygen tanker to a local hospital, they said on April 22.

The oxygen was being transferred to Shanti Mukund Hospital, according to police. Speaking to local media, the hospital’s CEO Dr Sunil Saggar said the oxygen supply at the hospital was “almost dried out”.

India reported the world’s highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases for the second day on Friday, with more than 330,000 new cases, Reuters reported. The country had more than 24 million active COVID-19 cases on Friday, according to government statistics. Credit: @DCP_SHAHDARA via Storyful
