Man Runs From Scene Shortly After Car Accident in Shalvey

A trail bike rider ran from the scene of a car accident on Monday, September 25, after a woman driving a car swerved to avoid him, crashing the vehicle on Luxford Road, Shalvey.

According to the St Marys-Mt Druitt Star a woman in her 30s was treated by paramedics and taken to Mount Druitt Hospital with an injury to her arm, while the children were uninjured.

A NSW Police spokesman confirmed the accident occurred at 12:45 pm when the driver veered to avoid the cyclist, who was riding a stolen trail bike.

“The male trail bike rider fled the scene on foot after the incident,” the police spokesman said. “A child in the Hyundai received a fractured foot and is recovering in Westmead Children’s Hospital. The female driver was uninjured.”

CCTV footage shows the car crashing, while further footage recorded by Deepti Hickey shows a man running from the scene as two others attempt to chase him. Credit: Facebook/Deepti Hickey via Storyful
