NASA Launches International Space Station Resupply Mission

NASA launched the Orbital ATK CRS-7 mission to resupply the International Space Station on Tuesday, April 18, in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

The capsule was carrying a space combustion experiment that will intentionally burn a single large sample of material to study flame development in space. Plus, it was to carry the Reentry Data Collection flight recorder to provide data about the conditions a spacecraft encounters during atmospheric reentry.

The cargo space delivery vehicle also was named to honor John Glenn, who died in December. He was the first American to orbit the Earth.

Also, NASA broadcast a 360-view of the launch, a first for the space agency. Credit: NASA via Storyful
