Purr-plexed: Cat Baffled by Icy Water Bowl as Owner Tries to Help During Heat Wave

A cat in Calgary, Alberta, found a way to make her ice-cold water go down easier, video posted by her owner shows.

This clip, posted on Facebook by Leanne Makinson, shows cat Bixi reacting to water her owner put an ice cube in. She daintily moistens her paw in the freezing-cold water, then licks it off.

Makinson told Storyful that the video was taken on June 29, when temperatures in Calgary soared to record highs of 36.3 degrees Celsius (97 degrees Fahrenheit), which was why she thought Bixi would appreciate the frigid drink. Credit: Leanne Makinson via Storyful
