Turkish-Backed Forces Raise Flag in Tal Abyad, Syria

Turkish-backed fighters raised a flag in Tal Abyad, in northern Syria, footage posted on social media shows.

Several videos posted to social media on October 14 and 15 showed fighters in the process of raising a Syrian opposition flag at a roundabout.

Storyful was able to confirm the footage was taken at a roundabout on a road leading south out of Tal Abyad.

A version of the same video, showing fighters saluting the flag, was posted on Twitter and YouTube accounts associated with the Syrian National Army 3rd Legion.
