UK Prime Minister Visits Scene Where MP Stabbed to Death

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer and Home Secretary Priti Patel laid flowers on October 16, outside the church where Conservative MP David Amess was killed while holding meetings with constituents on Friday.

Photographs released by the prime minister’s office show the leaders paying tribute to the late MP at Belfairs Methodist Church in the Leigh-on-Sea area of Essex.

Johnson said Amess was a “a much loved colleague and friend,” adding, “My thoughts are with his wife, children and friends.”

Starmer said the 69-year-old was “a dedicated public servant, a husband and a father.”

“We will all cherish our memories of your kindness, love and affection,” Patel said in a statement on Twitter. Credit: UK Prime Minister via Storyful
