Wildfire Smoke Looms Over Athens, Greece

Greek fire authorities tackled a wildfire in the Varympompi suburb of Athens, Greece, on August 3.

At least 520 firefighters were battling the fire, officials reported, with assistance from the Greek Army. The cause of the fire was under investigation as of the late hours of August 3.

Local media reported the electrical supply in the area was shut down at noon due to the fire, and several roads were closed.
