As of the close on Friday, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite has risen 18% this year and 31% over the last 12 months. Meanwhile, large chip companies like Nvidia, Broadcom and Super Micro Computer have jumped 156%, 48% and 218%, respectively, this year.
