LONDON (Reuters) -BP's head of refining and oil products trading Sven Boss-Walker has left the company with immediate effect to take up another job, a BP spokesperson said on Wednesday.
Boss-Walker, who is leaving after 25 years at BP, one of the world's largest oil traders, became senior vice president for refining and products trading in 2021.
His replacement will be the subject of a future announcement, the spokesperson said.
BP's trading operations are led by Carol Howle, executive vice president for trading and shipping.
Trading is a major driver of BP's revenue, often significantly boosting, and sometimes weighing on, profits. The company does not disclose earnings from the division, and only offers general descriptions of its performance.
Traders make money by rapidly responding to changes in the market to buy and sell crude oil and refined products, and shipping them around the world.
