Yahoo Finance Coronavirus: Uber offers free trips to customers travelling to get COVID-19 vaccine
Uber (UBER) will cover a maximum of £15 ($20) for trips taken to one of seven mass-vaccination centres across the UK until the end of February.
“We are committed to helping as many people as possible receive a vaccination during this critical time,” the company said in an e-mail to customers.
Trips are subject to availability and can be claimed between 18 January and 28 February.
The promotion is only valid for the first 4,000 riders per promo code. Uber will pay the trip fare up to £15. If customers go over, they will be charged the difference.
The offer will be valid for up to one £15 trip per person.

The COVID-19 vaccine is currently being given to those aged 70 and over; those who live or work in care homes; health and social care workers at high risk; and those clinically considered extremely vulnerable.
Uber’s policy for customers travelling during the pandemic include asking them to wear masks throughout their journey, give drivers space by sitting in the back seat on the left-hand side of the vehicle and open windows to improve ventilation.
The company has also provided drivers with free hygiene kits and asked them to disinfect their cars between trips.
The UK is vaccinating 140 people per minute against the coronavirus on average, vaccine deployment minister Nadhim Zahawi said on Monday.
Britain is currently leading Europe’s vaccination race, after becoming the first country to approve the Pfizer (PFE) jab.
Around 2.2 million people received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine between 8 December 2020 to 10 January 2021 in the UK, with mass vaccinations sites also opening on Monday.
