Tip of the week

Getting a new passport? Apply online to save almost a tenner.

In the last two months since changes to pricing of new passports kicked in, 100,000s of Brits have paid more than they need to for new or replacement passport applications because they were made by post.

According to an FOI request from MoneySavingExpert around 75,000 per week have paid more than they need to for their new passport.

Collectively it means those travelling overseas have paid £6.5m more than they would have done if they applied online, which is £9.50 cheaper.
