Nice to see if they can get out of the "sugar" business, feel it is a distraction from main focus.

@Sandy I need a BG pep talk! I hate having to own this for yet another year. This is when I also wish they paid a $4.00 dividend instead of the lousy $2.50. To be clear, if I had sold at $120 I would buy it back in the 80's, but we didn't sell at $120. The time value of money does creep up on us when you start looking at these as 3-4 year investments instead of 2 years. Right now I like ADM better than BG. I have never said that before.

Earnings expected at $12/share. If we give a 12 PE we have $144/share. Buying back shares. If we are pessimistic and we give it an annual income of ~ $11/share and PE of 10 we have $110/share.

I thought the CC went well, and that analysts were happy with the answers. Surprises me, therefore, that BG has fallen since call. Incidentally, under SEC rules I don't think the company can buy back shares until Monday (i.e. can't buyback for 2 days after earnings release).

Went into the weekend upset that I lost my Sanderson farm shares to Cargill. Woke up this morning screaming "bunge!". This stock will fill the void nicely as long as Cargill doesn't get their paws on it

Patience is a must when holding BG. I may have to let it go next time it hits $120 but meanwhile, I am OK through well into year 3 of owning this from 46.

My question: is the 1.8 billion speculated purchase price just based on the crushing capacity, or does it include the sugar production assets?

Is the strong dollar going to impact BH earnings? Serious opinions welcome.

Just checked wheat commodities and it tanked this week. I think that's what dragged BG down this week.

@Sandy, you are too quiet. Seeing BG trying to break under $100 is bleak, having held it at a big profit for years now. This is one of those times I wish BG and other Ag's paid a bigger dividend. I certainly am not selling now so this is likely to become an even longer term investment. Same goes for ADM and now NTR. The really depressing thing about CF is the fact that it is weak because of Nat Gas pricing, but my Nat Gas stocks are rolling over completely! So they are as dismal as Ag and mining. No place to hide.

Looks like BG wants to exit Russia and destroy their business. Brandon wants every company to become a part of the Democratic party....
